Counselling Services

Counselling is, at its heart, a conversation.
But not like any other conversation you’ve had.

It’s a space where you can speak freely: without judgement, without having to protect anyone else’s feelings, and without needing to have it all figured out before you open your mouth. Just you, an experienced therapist, and the time and safety to finally say the things you’ve been carrying alone.

We work with adults facing all kinds of challenges: anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, low self-esteem. But counselling isn’t only for crisis. It’s for anyone who senses that life could be lighter, richer or more fulfilling than it is right now.

You don’t need a diagnosis. You just need to feel ready to talk.

Angela Hackett

Angela has been a qualified counsellor for over 30 years, and in that time has sat with people through some of the hardest moments a life can hold: loss, betrayal, illness, the slow unravelling of confidence, the weight of things never said out loud.

What her clients describe most often is feeling heard, properly heard, perhaps for the first time. Angela listens for what sits beneath the words. Her background is psychodynamic, so she pays close attention to how early experiences quietly shape who we become, and to the patterns we repeat without ever choosing them. But she holds that lightly. She draws on a range of approaches and lets the work take the shape, and the pace, that’s right for you.

Angela works with adults on anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and life transitions. She is a registered member of the BACP and works fully within its Ethical Framework, so your safety and confidentiality are never in question.

She offers sessions online, with or without a screen, and by telephone, whichever feels most comfortable for you.

Larry Watson

Larry has been a qualified counsellor for over 25 years, with extensive experience as a supervisor at every level of the profession. He knows what works, and he isn’t precious about how you get there.

His approach is direct and grounded. He’ll listen carefully, then help you get to the point: what’s actually going on, what’s keeping it going, and what you can do about it. Clients say he puts them at ease quickly, and that they leave sessions with something they can use.

Larry works online, you in your space and him in his, with all the flexibility and confidentiality that brings. He also offers something few therapists do.
